The Minnesota Twins brought out their best Thursday night, fielding an exhibition lineup that very likely will be the same on Opening Day.

They certainly played their best, hammering starter Kevin Millwood on the way to a rain-shortened 8-3 victory over the Orioles at Hammond Stadium.

Michael Cuddyer led off the second inning with a home run, and the Twins batted around to score four times in the second inning and spoil Millwood's second Grapefruit League start in an Orioles uniform.

Nevertheless, Millwood said he felt pretty good and considered his performance a step in the right direction after he gave up six runs on seven hits and got just two outs in his Orioles exhibition debut.

"My location was a little bit better; the sliders I threw were good; I threw a couple of good curveballs and a couple not so good," he said. "All and all, I felt good."

Meanwhile, the Orioles continue to look for consistent offensive chemistry. They ended a six-game losing streak Wednesday night after scoring three runs in the first inning and managing just one hit the rest of the way. This time, they fell behind by five runs before Robert Andino got them on the board with his first home run of the exhibition season.

Andino homered in an intrasquad game but was 1-for-15 when he homered off Twins starter Scott Baker in the third inning. Andino tripled in his next at-bat. The Orioles added a couple of runs in the eighth but lost for the seventh time in nine Grapefruit League games.
