Orioles on deck: What to watch Tuesday at White Sox, plus lineups, broadcast info and more

Orioles (15-32) vs. White Sox (13-31)

Where: Guaranteed Rate Field

First pitch: 8:10 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (3-3, 3.88 ERA) vs. White Sox RHP James Shields (1-4, 4.88 ERA)

What to watch

1. Going for two. The Orioles are a major league-worst 5-19 on the road this season, and have only once won back-to-back games away from home. They have a chance to do it a second time Tuesday as they look to guarantee themselves at least a split of this four-game series with the White Sox.

2. Bounce back. Kevin Gausman had been rolling along with a 2.30 ERA over seven starts before allowing six runs in 4 2/3 innings Thursday. The right-hander will now be looking to rebound from a poor start for the first time since his season debut, when he gave up six runs in four innings. Gausman proceeded to hold opponents to three runs or fewer every game he pitched from April 6 to May 11.

3. Get the bats going. Although the Orioles won Monday, they’ve scored just six runs while striking out 35 times over the past three games. The Orioles had 13 hits Sunday in the Boston Red Sox’s 5-0 shutout win, but have just 11 hits in the other two games, including only five in Monday’s victory.
