What to watch
1. Hottest team in the AL. The Orioles go from dropping two of three to the Blue Jays to facing the best team in the American League thus far. The Red Sox lead the division at 10-2 after winning nine straight games between Opening Day and a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. Boston comes in tied for second in the AL in runs while ranking third in ERA. The Orioles are eighth in ERA and tied for 10th in runs scored.
2. Another step. Chris Tillman took a baby step forward in his second start. He allowed three runs through five innings at Yankee Stadium, before he was needed to be extended one more inning after a 14-inning win by the O's the night before. He allowed two more runs in the sixth and left with five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. The Red Sox should help him find out if he's on the right track or still searching.
3. Old friend. Former Orioles prospect Eduardo Rodríguez will be looking to bounce back from a poor season debut in which he threw 92 pitches and allowed three runs in 3 2/3 innings against the Rays. No current Orioles have had great success against the lefty, with the highest averages being .286 (Tim Beckham and Caleb Joseph). Danny Valencia usually feasts on southpaws, but is batting .167 in 12 career at-bats against Rodríguez.
