Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (3-3, 3.48 ERA) vs. Rays RHP Sergio Romo (1-1, 4.66 ERA)

Orioles shortstop Manny Machado and Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper are taking different approaches to their free-agent walk years.

What to watch

1. A road chance. The Orioles have a chance to leave St. Petersburg, Fla., with just their second road series win of the season. They fell flat Saturday, but are still 4-4 against the Rays this season, one of their better marks against an individual opponent.

2. A new roll? Kevin Gausman answered just his second poor outing of the year with a strong one in which he struck out 10 in 6 1/3 scoreless innings May 22. The first time Gausman had a rough day this season, he posted a 2.30 ERA over his following seven starts. Is he beginning another roll right now?

3. Chris Davis. After going hitless in 19 plate appearances entering Thursday, Chris Davis has hits in two straight games and has reached base six times in 13 plate appearances. Is he starting to break out of his funk?
