What to watch

1. Going for three. The Orioles go for their longest winning streak of 2018 on Friday as they seek their season-high third straight victory. The Orioles won despite a poor start from Chris Tillman on Thursday, and outscored the Royals 16-9 over the past two games to earn just their third series win of the season. The Rays come in having lost three straight, having been outscored 8-3 during the slide.

2. Encore. Kevin Gausman takes the mound for the first time since throwing nine scoreless innings of two-hit ball in Saturday's 2-0 extra-inning loss in Oakland. He looks to build on that effort and the 2.27 ERA he has compiled over his past six starts.

3. Streaking Jones. Adam Jones comes in to the series with a six-game hitting streak, during which he's batting .400/.444/.720 with four extra-base hits, three runs scored and four RBIs. Jones had an exceptional game Thursday with three hits, three runs scored, a home run, a double and three RBIs.
