O’s recall RHP Yefry Ramírez, place IF Steve Wilkerson on DL

With a left oblique strain to infielder Steve Wilkerson landing him on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, the Orioles recalled pitcher Yefry Ramírez, who could start Wednesday.

What to watch

1. Return of Schoop. Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop hasn’t started the past two games as his batting average has dipped to .197. He took over for his replacement, Wilkerson, when Wilkerson was injured Sunday. Schoop will be back in the starting lineup tonight.

2. Good or bad Cobb? Orioles starter Alex Cobb has shown flashes of his former self this season. But he must improve on the .355 batting average on balls in play — the highest it’s been in any full season in his career — according to FanGraphs.

3. Good Eflin. Zach Eflin has lowered his ERA from 3.74 to 3.02 over his past six starts. In his last start on June 27, he pitched seven scoreless innings against the Yankees.
