Where: Yankee Stadium

First pitch: 7:05 p.m.

What to watch

1. A different look. With the Orioles struggling to score runs and falling 5½ games out of the second wild-card spot, manager Buck Showalter is giving some different people chances tonight. Pedro Álvarez makes his first start of the year, at designated hitter, and Austin Hays is in center field for his second start of the year. Mark Trumbo gets a rare opportunity in the field, playing in right tonight. Adam Jones gets the start of the night off.

2. Another shot. Gabriel Ynoa's solid outing in his first Orioles start six days ago led to him getting another opportunity in the rotation tonight. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings, and now takes on a Yankees club that has crushed the Orioles in New York this season.

3. Severino warning. Luis Severino, the Yankees' top starter, takes the mound tonight with a 1.38 ERA over his five starts since allowing eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Aug. 12. The 23-year-old righty had a mediocre outing against the Orioles in his first meeting with them this season, but has held them to two runs in 13 1/3 innings in two head-to-head matchups since.
