What to watch
1. No Manny, no Beckham. The Orioles have an interesting lineup in place for tonight's nationally televised game. Manny Machado (illness) and Tim Beckham (abscess wisdom tooth) are out with J.J. Hardy at shortstop and Ryan Flaherty at third. Austin Hays starts in right and is leading off while Trey Mancini moves up to the second spot with catcher Welington Castillo batting fifth.
2. Cy Sale. Red Sox lefty Chris Sale looks to punctuate what he hopes will be credentials worthy of his first Cy Young Award. Sale comes in leading the majors with 201 1/3 innings and is second in the American League with a 2.86 ERA. Sale struggled his last time out, allowing four runs in 5 2/3 innings. The Orioles have faced him twice this season, managing five runs in 14 innings while striking out 20 times compared to just three walks.
3. Three more losses. Wade Miley takes the hill hoping to keep the Orioles from skidding closer to their first losing season since 2011. Miley was torched for six runs in one-third of an inning in his last start, and the Orioles now need him to be much better now that they're three losses away from a sub-.500 season.
