Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (9-9, 5.25 ERA) vs. Red Sox LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (4-3, 4.01)

What to watch

1. Make it three. The Orioles have won consecutive games for the first time since Aug. 5-7 and will be going for their first three-game winning streak since that same stretch. Standing in their way is former Orioles prospect Eduardo Rodriguez, who has a 5.61 ERA over his past eight starts. The last time Rodriguez faced his former club, the Orioles scored seven runs in 5 2/3 innings against him on June 1.

2. Batter up. The Orioles are tied for the American League lead with 139 runs this month and stand alone atop the majors with 248 hits in August. Tim Beckham and Manny Machado are the top two in the majors in hits this month while Machado leads the AL with 32 RBIs in August. See if the Orioles' bats can again carry them to a win.

3. Where there's Gaus. Kevin Gausman has cooled off some since a superb second-half run. In three games since he posted a 0.65 ERA over a four-start stretch, Gausman is 1-2 with a 6.06 ERA. In his last outing, he allowed five runs in four innings. Can he get back on track in Boston?
