What to watch
1. Taking the playoff push out west. The Orioles have won seven of nine games to pull within 2½ games of the second wild-card spot as they head on what could be a season-defining 10-game West Coast trip. They begin against the Angels, who sit a half-game behind the Orioles in the playoff race, and finish at the Seattle Mariners, who are one game ahead. The Orioles hope to continue their push for a playoff spot after failing to go over .500 out west each of the past two seasons.
2. Bundy Day. These are becoming rarer events now that the right-hander is up to a career-high 127 1/3 innings. The extra rest did him well before his last start, when he allowed one unearned run on three hits and a walk in eight innings.
3. Offensive boom. The Orioles have scored the most runs in the American League (130) and the second most in baseball since the All-Star break. That has come on an AL-leading 37 homers, as well as a .286 average and an .838 OPS, both of which rank second. See if the Orioles' bats can stay hot against the Angels.
