Pregame roster moves
The Orioles called up right-hander Yefry Ramírez and catcher Chance Sisco from Triple-A Norfolk before Thursday’s game. The club optioned left-handed reliever Donnie Hart to Norfolk to make room. Catcher Austin Wynns was optioned to the Tides after Wednesday’s game.

What to watch

1. Yacabonis. Jimmy Yacabonis has been undergoing a so-far successful transition from relieving to starting in the minors, and is getting rewarded for it with his first major league start Thursday. Yacabonis has had two relief appearances with the Orioles this season, but has a 1.99 ERA over his past seven starts with Triple-A Norfolk and a 3.14 ERA overall.

2. Davis. After going 0-for-10 over his previous three games, Chris Davis had two hits, including a three-run homer Wednesday. Davis has been showing signs of coming out of his season-long slump since returning from eight games on the bench. Although that progress hasn’t shown itself in a straight line, he has a double, two homers and eight RBIs in his first six games back. He has a .738 OPS during that time, but also a .174 batting average.

3. Avoid the sweep. The Orioles had won four of six games behind a more productive offense before returning to their losing ways with four straight defeats. They did score seven runs Wednesday, and that could be a positive sign after eight runs over the previous three games. But they lost to the Mariners nonetheless.
