What to watch
1. Cobb. Alex Cobb rebounded nicely from his first set of back-to-back poor starts since April by allowing one run on four hits in seven innings Friday at the Atlanta Braves. He lowered his ERA by more than a half-run and is a couple of good starts away from dropping it into the 5.00s for the first time this season.
2. Valencia. Danny Valencia was batting .224 with a .735 OPS on May 12. A day later, he had four hits and four RBIs to start a tear that hasnāt stopped. Heās batting .330/.389/.490 with nine extra-base hits, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored over his past 100 at-bats over 29 games.
3. LeBlanc. Mariners lefty Wade LeBlanc has been around a while, having pitched 191 games over 10 major league seasons, but he has never had a season like this. He moved into the Seattle rotation at the beginning of May and went 3-0 with a 2.06 ERA over his first nine starts ā never allowing more than three runs, and giving up that many only once. Heās coming off his first bad start of the season ā six runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings ā but that only elevated his season ERA from 2.63 to 3.26.
