Ron Fritz, sports editor: Everything set up perfectly for the Orioles on Opening Day — the weather, the starting pitching, the timely hitting, heck, even the national anthem/seventh-inning-stretch singer, Richard Troxell, hit it out of the park. Then came the implosion by Brad Brach. You could feel the letdown throughout the stadium. But even though the Orioles couldn’t close the game out, they sure knew how to finish, thanks to Adam Jones. One pitch, one swing and everyone went home happy. A nice way to start the season.
