Wilkerson optioned, Hart recalled

One day after the Orioles’ 15-inning win over the Braves, the club optioned utility man Steve Wilkerson to Triple-A Norfolk to make room for left-handed reliever Donnie Hart before Saturday’s game.

Wilkerson, 26, performed well in the field and had his first hit — an RBI single — in Friday’s game. Overall, he appeared in three games and went 1-for-5.

Hart, 27, has pitched well both with the Orioles and Tides this season. He has a 1.35 ERA in six appearances with the Orioles and a 2.55 ERA in 20 games with Norfolk.

What to watch

1. Rare road series win. The Orioles have a chance to earn just their third road series win of the season, and first outside of New York. The Orioles have only swiped series at the Yankees and Mets, and improved to 11-29 away from home with Friday’s 15-inning victory.

2. Bundy. Dylan Bundy is coming off his worst start in nearly a month and it wasn’t that bad. He allowed four runs in six innings to beat the Miami Marlins on June 17. But that came after he had a 1.80 ERA over his previous four starts.

3. Davis. In his first game back in the lineup after sitting out eight games, Chris Davis homered, walked twice and drove in two runs. It was a good start after he went into his hiatus with a .150 batting average. He’ll be looking to keep it going against Braves righty Julio Teheran, who just pitched one of his best games of the season June 17. In a win over the San Diego Padres, he allowed no hits, struck out 11 and walked three in six scoreless innings.
