Orioles honor fallen officer Amy Caprio as Birdland hero this weekend

Amy S. Caprio, a Baltimore County police officer who was killed in May in the line of duty, was honored by the Orioles this weekend.

She was named one of the team’s Birdland Heroes on Saturday. Her husband, Tim Caprio accepted the award at Camden Yards.

Amy Caprio was responding to a burglary call in Perry Hall and was hit by a suspect’s vehicle. Four teenagers have been indicted on murder charges in her death.

She has also been posthumously named the Parkville Precinct May 2018 Officer of the Month. It was announced last week by the Baltimore County Police Department.
