Yoenis Cespedes reportedly signs four-year deal with Oakland A's

Well, we are getting to the end of the offseason, which means the Orioles' wish list – or, at the least, the fans' wish list for the Orioles – is coming to an end, too.

Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Oakland A's have agreed to sign Cuban outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that the deal is worth approximately $36 million over four years.

The Orioles were interested in the 26-year-old outfielder and internet workout sensation, and several members of the club's brass scouted him in December and January.

But, again, the Orioles didn't seem overly enthused in putting out that kind of money for someone who has never played in the majors, and someone who likely would have had to play minor league ball this year before being ready for the big leagues.

The sense I got is that the Orioles' contingent felt he definitely wasn't ready for the majors to start 2012. But that's a moot point now.
