Apparently, the regular bartender has more pressing duties today, so you get me -- Peter Schmuck -- to serve you a few imaginary whiskey sours and relay the latest playoff predictions of Dandy Dan Connolly, Ernest Eduardo A. Encina and the most handsome columnist in America.
Coincidentally enough, all three of us picked the Orioles to win the American League Championship Series in six games, which is either a very strong consensus or a very strong indication that we're a bunch of front-running homers.
I'll go with the former, though I can't speak for my two orange-scented colleagues.
My prediction for tonight's game is rain, but if the game is played, I think the Orioles will score a 6-3 victory over the pesky Royals. Connolly has the Orioles winning, 4-2, and Encina has them winning a cozy 3-2 nail-biter.
If you're playing along at home, and you'll get your chance in a moment, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that I was the only one who picked the Orioles to win in each of the three games of the AL Divisional Series.
