Wei-Yin Chen on mound as Orioles open big series at Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK — The Orioles will open their pivotal three-game series against the New York Yankees tonight in The Bronx.

Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen will start for the Orioles on his 30th birthday. He will make his 12th career start against the Yankees. He has gone 3-4 with a 4.76 ERA in his first 11 starts against them. He is 2-3 with a 4.15 ERA in six career starts at Yankee Stadium.

In his last start at Yankee Stadium, Chen held New York to one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one in a 6-2 win over the Yankees on May 9.
