-- Class of 2015 quarterback commit Gage Shaffer threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns and had a 69-yard rushing touchdown in a 39-0 win Saturday.

Former NFL Most Valuable Player Joe Theismann visited Shaffer's practice Thursday and came away impressed. "He loves his arm strength and accuracy, and everybody has loved his height, but after being able to watch his motions a little closer he feels just as strongly about Gage's chances at the next level," Shaffer's coach said. Theismann "knows he needs to work on his footwork, and even Gage will tell you that, but if he can commit himself to football year-round, Joe really likes his chance of success in college."
