During his postgame news conference Saturday, Orioles manager Buck Showalter gave updates on Wesley Wright and J.J. Hardy.
Wright, a left-handed reliever who was placed on the disabled list Saturday with a strain of the left trapezius muscle, is expected to undergo an MRI on his left shoulder Monday.
"He'll probably head to Sarasota [afterward] unless something comes up in that MRI [that] we weren't expecting," Showalter said.
The manager also said shortstop J.J. Hardy, on the disabled list with a left shoulder strain, could begin a rehabilitation assignment Thursday or shortly thereafter at Double-A Bowie when the Orioles head on the road. The Baysox are home from Thursday until April 21.
"He probably wouldn't go with us [on the road] if things progress like they're progressing. I was talking to him in the dugout tonight trying to get a feel" for his preference, Showalter said. "I'm thinking Bowie. They have a really good infield. And they'll be home about the time we hope he is ready to play some games."
