Chris Tillman will get a chance to face the team that drafted him this week after all.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said after Tuesday's game that Tillman felt fine after playing pregame catch and will start against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday.

Tillman initially was penciled in to start Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels when Bud Norris was unavailable because of bronchitis. But Tillman was dealing with minor back stiffness and spasms.

"Things went well for him today," Showalter said after Tuesday's game. "He feels good. He's 100 percent and ready to go."

Tillman, who is 2-5 with a 6.34 ERA in seven starts this year, last pitched on May 12, when he allowed five earned runs in 6 2/3 innings against Toronto.

He'll be pitching on eight days rest when he starts again, but it will be against a team he has had major success against.

Tillman is 6-0 with a 2.03 ERA in six starts versus Seattle, the organization that drafted him in the second round in 2006. The Mariners traded him, Adam Jones and three others to the Orioles in 2008 for lefty Erik Bedard.

Showalter also announced his rotation for the following two games after Thursday.

Ubaldo Jimenez will start Friday's interleague matchup in Miami against the Marlins. And then rookie Mike Wright, who was fantastic in his major league debut Sunday, will get a second big league start versus the Marlins on Saturday. It's likely that Miguel Gonzalez will start the series finale in Miami on Sunday.
