Three Maryland senior football players have accepted invitations to the East-West Shrine Game — inside linebacker Cole Farrand, nose tackle Darius Kilgo and wide receiver Deon Long.

The East-West Shrine Game is considered the second-most prominent postseason All-Star game and provides a great opportunity for players to showcase their skills in front of NFL teams in advance of the NFL draft.

The game will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan. 17.

Farrand leads the Terps with 111 tackles despite missing most of two games due to injury. A three-year starter, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound Farrand averaged a Big Ten-best 11.9 tackles per game during conference play.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Kilgo, another three-year starter, has 41 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, two sacks, a blocked kick and three fumble recoveries. Kilgo is considered by many analysts to be the top draft prospect among Maryland's seniors and a potential mid-to-late round draft pick.

Long, a former five-star junior college recruit, has started all 12 games. He has 49 catches for 554 yards and two touchdowns.
