The Philadelphia Phillies had a rough Tuesday night in Baltimore.

If it wasn't bad enough that the Orioles hit a franchise-record eight home runs, scored 19 runs and dealt the Phillies their eighth straight loss and 17th defeat in 20 games, when the cavalry was called upon in the eighth inning, nobody answered.

With the Orioles up, 18-3, the bases loaded with one out and outfielder Jeff Francoeur pitching for Philadelphia, pitching coach Bob McClure tried to make a call to the bullpen.

Problem was, the phone was off the hook.

As Francoer pitched to Jimmy Paredes, McClure went to the dugout steps and waved a white towel to get the bullpen's attention.

I'll let the @masnOrioles Twitter account take it from there.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this post misspelled Jeff Francoeur's name.
