Three-star athlete Mike Majette is no longer part of Maryland football's 2015 recruiting class, a source confirmed Monday.
A Terps commitment since July, Majette took an official visit to Indiana last weekend without first notifying anyone at Maryland. That led to the Terps rescinding Majette's scholarship offer, according to the source.
After cornerback Kareem Ali decommitted from Maryland and orally committed to Temple, the Terps offered Majette a scholarship in July. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound player from Woodbridge, Va., quickly accepted.
Nonetheless, this has been a highly positive past week for Maryland's recruiting.
The Terps picked up an oral commitment from four-star Class of 2016 outside linebacker Keandre Jones (Good Counsel) last Monday and another from four-star Class of 2015 defensive lineman Adam McLean (Quince Orchard) on Thursday.
Rivals ranks Jones as the 32nd-best player in the Class of 2016. McLean decommitted from Penn State in November and chose Maryland over offers from Ole Miss and others.
Terrapin Times first reported about Majette being dropped from the Terps' recruiting class.
