Coker was subsequently granted a release from his football scholarship. He played five games for Iowa following the incident but was suspended from a bowl game for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Coker rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown in 2013 before suffering a season-ending abdominal injury.
During his first season at Stony Brook in 2012, Coker rushed for 1,018 yards and nine touchdowns.
At Iowa, he rushed for 1,384 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore and was named second-team All-Big Ten Conference. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the 2010 Insight Bowl against Missouri.
At DeMatha, Coker was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection. He rushed for 1,698 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior and was considered a four-star recruit.
He rushed for a school-record 392 yards and five touchdowns in a game against Gilman.
