The Orioles will open their three-game series against the Seattle Mariners tonight at Camden Yards.
Tonight's game will mark the return of former Orioles slugger Nelson Cruz, his first game back in Baltimore since he left the Orioles through free agency in the offseason. Read more on Cruz's return HERE.
Cruz, who led the majors with 40 homers last year in his only season in Baltimore, already saw many of his former teammates yesterday when he attended Manny Machado's benefit bowling tournament. You can read more on there HERE.
While Cruz was a clubhouse and fan favorite during his one season in an Orioles uniform, he is also a .344 hitter in 40 games against the Orioles. He has reached safely in 37 of those games, which were mostly played as a member of the Texas Rangers.
Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano, a notorious Orioles killer during his days in the division with the New York Yankees, is a .361 hitter with 15 homers and 44 RBIs in 79 career games at Camden Yards. He also owns an eye-popping .995 OPS at Camden Yards.
He's also a .344 career hitter with 29 homers and 106 RBIs in 161 games against the Orioles overall.
Right now on the field, Orioles first baseman Chris Davis was just getting some early batting practice in. Also, rookie pitchers Mike Wright and Tyler Wilson are practicing some bunts in the batting cage in anticipation of this weekend's interleague series in Miami.
