Resilience from Brian Matusz

They say when you're young, you can shrug off adversity more easily. And Matusz, 25, has done the right things in the offseason, spending it working out with former Orioles outfielder Brady Anderson in California. But in recovering from a season in which he owned the highest ERA in major league history for a pitcher with more than 10 starts (10.69), that's just the beginning. Not only will Matusz have to show he has regained his form and velocity, but he will also have to show lots of fight this spring and handle whatever is thrown at him — even if that ultimately includes a trip to Triple-A Norfolk.
