Former Ravens wide receiver and kick returner Jacoby Jones has signed a two-year contract with the San Diego Chargers.
The deal is worth $5.5 million, according to a league source.
Jones visited the Chargers this week after previous visits to the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans.
The Ravens terminated Jones' four-year, $12 million contract last week, saving the team $750,000 against the salary cap.
The Ravens will host the Chargers next season at M&T Bank Stadium, so they'll play against the former Super Bowl XLVII hero who scored two touchdowns in a victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
"One of our off-season goals was to improve our special teams, specifically upgrading our return game," Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said in a statement. "We feel Jacoby brings a dynamic aspect to our kick and punt returns that we need, and he also has solid experience playing wide receiver."
Last season, Jones had a 72-yard kickoff return against the Chargers.
Jones, 30, scored two touchdowns in the Ravens' Super Bowl XLVII victory over the San Francisco 49ers, and his legacy also includes the "Mile-High Miracle" touchdown against the Denver Broncos in the 2013 AFC divisional-round.
He was due a $2.5 million base salary in 2015 and was one year into a contract that included a $3.5 million signing bonus.
Jones made $4.5 million last season, but didn't hit a $500,000 incentive clause for receptions. The New Orleans native caught just nine passes for 131 yards and zero touchdowns last season. He dropped several passes early and lost playing time.
Jones also had four fumbles, losing two.
Jones averaged 9.2 yards per punt return last season. He averaged 30.6 yards per kickoff return with one touchdown, a 108-yard kickoff return in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He ranked second in the NFL in kickoff return average.
