Some more factoids from Tuesday's 19-3 game

Baltimore Sun columnist Peter Schmuck discusses the Orioles' 19-3 win over the Phillies. The Orioles had a team-record eight home runs in the game. (Peter Schmuck, Baltimore Sun video)

By now, you know the Orioles hit a modern-franchise-record eight homers Tuesday night in a 19-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. They had hit seven on three previous occasions. The last team to hit eight bombs in one game was the Boston Red Sox in 2013 versus the Detroit Tigers.

But there are plenty of other stats to consider from the blowout.

** The Orioles hadn't scored more than 19 runs since they scored 23 on Sept. 28, 2000 against the Toronto Blue Jays. The most runs scored by one team in Camden Yards history, though, was in the first game of a doubleheader on Aug. 22, 2007, when the Orioles lost 30-3 to the Texas Rangers. Those 30 runs were the most allowed in one game since the Chicago Colts beat the Louisville Colonels 36-7 in 1897. The Rangers only hit six homers against the Orioles in the 30-3 bludgeoning.
