Machado will play in his 229th straight game Saturday, the longest active streak in the majors. But that will end when Machado serves his suspension for charging the mound and fighting Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura on June 7.
Earlier this season, Machado drew criticism for being too aggressive on the bases when he was thrown out at third either trying to extend hits or stealing the base multiple times.
