Former Orioles reliever Pedro Strop said Friday that he was doing fine the day after he was involved in an automobile accident in his native Dominican Republic.
News circulated late Thursday night that the current Chicago Cubs right-hander was involved in an accident.
Strop told The Baltimore Sun on Friday that he was not seriously injured in the accident. He went to a local hospital for a series of precautionary tests, including a set of X-rays, which were negative.
Strop said he needed 3-4 stitches to close a gash on his left elbow, but otherwise he felt "everything was perfect."
Photos of a heavily damaged white convertible believed to be owned by Strop circulated on social media Friday morning.
