The Baltimore Sun is breaking down where the Ravens stand at each position, including predictions on how many players the team will keep at each spot and which players are locks, long shots or "on the bubble."
QUARTERBACKS
How many they'll keep: 2
Locks if healthy: Joe Flacco, Matt Schaub
Long shots: Jerry Lovelocke, Bryn Renner
Skinny: There's no ambiguity here. The Ravens have kept just two quarterbacks on their roster for five straight seasons and they are expected to go that route again this year. Schaub, the former Houston Texans starter whom the Ravens signed following Tyrod Taylor's free-agent departure, struggled in organized team activities, but team officials feel his leadership, experience and steady demeanor will benefit Flacco. Even if Schaub's struggles continue into training camp, there's not another veteran quarterback on the roster to push him for the backup role. Lovelocke (Edmondson) and Renner are likely competing for one practice squad spot. Keeping just two quarterbacks can be dicey, but such risk has been mitigated by the durability of Flacco, who has yet to miss a game in his NFL career.
