The Ravens have shifted Anthony Levine from cornerback back to his natural safety position, according to sources.
A key special-teams contributor Levine moved to cornerback last season due to several injuries at the position and held up well as he started three games. The converted safety had a career-high 10 tackles in a loss to the San Diego Chargers as he started at cornerback. He finished the season with 23 tackles and four passes defended, plus six special teams tackles.
In the offseason, Levine was re-signed to a two-year, $2.4 million contract that includes a $400,000 signing bonus and playtime incentives.
The Ravens didn't give Levine, a former undrafted free agent from Tennessee State, a restricted free agent tender and instead signed him to a longer-term contract.
Levine drew interest from other NFL teams before deciding to remain with the Ravens. He had a career-high 11 special-teams tackles the previous year.
