Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak is among the head coaching candidates the New York Jets have requested to interview, according to a source with knowledge of the Jets' plans.

The Jets fired head coach and former Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik on Monday. They have hired former NFL general managers Ron Wolf and Charley Casserly as consultants to help them in their coaching and general manager searches.

Kubiak was fired as the Houston Texans' head coach last year after eight years, a 61-64 record and two trips to the playoffs.

He has helped revitalize the Ravens' offense with the implementation of his zone-running schemes and his version of the West Coast offense.
