Allen, a running back, is expected to work in tandem this season with veteran Justin Forsett.

A 6-foot, 221-pound Southern California product, he has 4.53-second speed in the 40-yard dash and posted a 35 1/2-inch vertical leap.

Known as a downhill runner, Allen was compared in one draft publication to former Ravens running back Bernard Pierce.

Allen isn't flashy but rushed for 1,489 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He caught 41 passes for 458 yards and one touchdown while playing through a shoulder injury.

He had six career fumbles in 480 touches and averaged 5.5 yards per carry.

In 2013, he rushed for 785 yards and 14 touchdowns with 22 catches for 252 yards and one touchdown.

He bench-pressed 225 pounds only 11 times at the NFL scouting combine, the fewest of any running back.
