The Orioles activated left-hander Troy Patton between the two games of the doubleheader Thursday after he completed a 25-game suspension for testing positive for Adderall use.

The Orioles' first game Thursday was their 25th of the season, meaning Patton had to be activated before the nightcap.

To make room for Patton on the roster, the club outrighted right-hander Josh Stinson, who cleared waivers, to Triple-A Norfolk. Stinson had a 7.15 ERA in 11 1/3 innings over seven appearances with the Orioles this year.

Patton, 27, has a 3.04 ERA in 131 appearances over four seasons with the Orioles.

Patton made four appearances in April in Triple-A Norfolk, and he allowed two runs and four hits in 4 2/3 innings while preparing for his return.
