Chris Davis leads off in Orioles' intrasquad game

SARASOTA, Fla. – Intrasquad game lineups can be unconventional, and the ones for this afternoon's game at Ed Smith Stadium fits that description.

Here they are:

Don't worry, Davis isn't going to be leading off on Opening Day. And it's safe to say that this will likely be Paul Janish's last opportunity to hit cleanup.

Last year, Orioles manager Buck Showalter put Matt Wieters in the leadoff spot for an intrasquad game so he could get more at bats coming off Tommy John surgery.

Mark Trumbo will start in right field for the home team and Jimmy Paredes will play there for the visiting team.

We were told that Chris Tillman would start for one team, but Kevin Gausman will be the first pitch for the home team.

Gausman will be followed by Jason Garcia, Brad Brach, Todd Redmond, Cesar Cabral and Ashur Tolliver. Miguel Gonzalez will start for the visiting team and Dylan Bundy, Vance Worley, Hunter Harvey and T.J. McFarland will also pitch.

This will be the first time this spring the Orioles play on the main stadium field at Ed Smith. Yesterday's intraquad game was on the Camden Yards South back field of the complex because there was a season-ticket holder even at the stadium.

Looks like the Orioles will be wearing Lungevity T-shirts today in remembrance of former Orioles public relations director Monica Barlow, who passed away two years today.
