Pre-game: Orioles vs. Athletics

The Orioles hope to get back in the win column tonight after their four-game winning streak ended with last night's 5-2 loss to the A's here at Camden Yards.

Tonight is the first of six Orioles Legends Celebration Series nights honoring the former Orioles greats who have had their numbers retired. Tonight starts with Frank Robinson. A sculpture of Robinson will be unveiled in a pre-game ceremony in the new center-field picnic area. A replica of the sculpture is being given away to every fan in attendance.

Rookie Ryan Flaherty is making his first career start in right field tonight. Nick Markakis has the illness bug that's been going around the Orioles clubhouse so he's at DH, and fourth outfielder Endy Chavez has an intercostal strain, opening the door for Flaherty.

Flaherty played in parts of six spring training games in right field, including three starts there. He also played in 13 games (eight starts) in right field at Double-A Nashville last season.

Catcher Matt Wieters is also a bit under the weather, and Orioles manager Buck Showalter was going to give him either tonight or Sunday off. Given Wieters' sickness and a rainy night expected, he's getting tonight off instead of tomorrow. Ronny Paulino gets the start in his place.

Also, Showalter said left-hander Zach Britton threw 35 pitches of a mound Friday in Sarasota. Catcher Taylor Teagarden's third epidural injection is still slated for Monday.

Here are tonight's lineups:
