Orioles pre-game notes on Britton, Garcia, Roberts, Betemit, lineups

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he still has not made a decision who will pitch Monday at Seattle. A lot depends on whether Zach Britton will be needed today in relief.

Freddy Garcia, who is slated to pitch Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk, is the other candidate.

Wilson Betemit (right knee) has progressed to exercise activities in a pool, including the underwater treadmill. He is in Sarasota, Fla. There is no set timetable for his return.

Brian Roberts (hamstring) has started light jogging in Sarasota. That's a progression from working out in the pool. There is also no set timetable for his return to Baltimore.

Today's game against the Oakland A's is sold out – at least the 36,000-plus seats that are available to purchase (the upper deck is tarped). The A's will have a pre-game ceremony honoring the 40th anniversary of their 1973 World Championship.

All of that club's key players, with the exception of the late Catfish Hunter, will attend. That includes Reggie Jackson, who is being honored with a bobblehead today.

Showalter said Dylan Bundy's exam with Dr. James Andrews is still scheduled for Monday in Florida. Bundy saw Orioles club doctor John Wilckens about his tender forearm a few days ago and Wilckens confirmed the original diagnosis of tightness.
Matt Wieters is not catching today but is the club's designated hitter. Taylor Teagarden gets the start behind the plate.

The organization released righty reliever Scott Proctor from Triple-A Norfolk and transferred right-hander Rob Delaney to Double-A Bowie. Starter Josh Stinson returns to the Tides and lefty Chris Jones, who was obtained from the Atlanta Braves earlier this month for Luis Ayala, was promoted from Bowie.

Here are today's lineups:

Orioles: McLouth 7, Machado 5, Markakis 9, Jones 8, Davis 3, Wieters DH, Hardy 6, Flaherty 4, Teagarden 2. Tillman 1.

A's: Crisp 8, Jaso 2, Smith DH, Lowrie 6, Moss 3, Donaldson 5, Reddick 9, Young 7, Sogard 4. Griffin 1.
