Orioles on deck: What to watch Wednesday at Blue Jays

Orioles (38-38) vs. Blue Jays (36-40)

Where: Rogers Centre

First pitch: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/105.7 FM

Starting pitchers: Orioles LHP Wade Miley (3-4, 4.48 ERA) vs. Blue Jays RHP Marcus Stroman (7-4, 3.69 ERA)

What to watch

1. Going streaking. The Orioles seem to be heating up at a good time with the bullpen nearing full health, and five straight games left against division rivals in their area of the standings. The club has won three in a row for the first time since May 31 to June 2, and has done it with most things clicking. They're averaging 6.3 runs for and 3.0 runs against over their past three games, since their streak of 20 straight games allowing at least five runs.

2. Production jump. Mark Trumbo might only be batting .268 over his past 10 games, but he has started to be a bit more productive with three doubles, two homers and eight RBIs during that time. His two-run double in the first proved to be the difference Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

3. Miley's turn. Chris Tillman is the only starter over the past three games to pitch poorly. Dylan Bundy snapped the Orioles in line with seven strong innings Saturday. Three days later, Kevin Gausman provided his first scoreless start of the season. Perhaps Wade Miley can follow suit tonight. Since allowing one run in seven innings on June 1, the left-hander has struggled to a 10.91 ERA in four starts.
