Orioles on deck: What to watch Tuesday at Rays

Orioles (11-7) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (9-10)

Where: Tropicana Field

First pitch: 7:10 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Ubaldo Jimenez (1-1, 3.71 ERA) vs. Rays RHP Jake Odorizzi (0-1, 3.97 ERA)

What to watch

1. Heat him up. Pedro Alvarez showed signs of emerging from his month-long slump with two doubles Monday for his first multihit game as an Oriole. After going 4-for-45 (.108) to start the season, is the left-handed slugger about to bust out?

2. Ubaldo vs. the Rays. Ubaldo Jimenez makes his sixth career start against the Rays tonight after going 4-1 with a 2.56 ERA in his first five career outings against them. Jimenez has allowed more than two runs to the Rays only once in his career. Can he do it again to help the Orioles even the series?

3. Own Odorizzi. The Orioles have tagged Rays starter Jake Odorizzi with a 5.36 ERA against them over the past three seasons, with 10 home runs off him in 43 2/3 innings. With increased power, will they tee off him again?
