Orioles on deck: What to watch Thursday at Blue Jays

Orioles (5-2) vs. Blue Jays (1-7)

Where: Rogers Centre

First pitch: 7:07 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN/105.7 FM

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman (0-0, 5.40 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LHP Francisco Liriano (0-0, 135.00 ERA)

What to watch

1. Boom boom. The Orioles had five home runs in their first seven games before mashing five in the series finale in Boston. Trey Mancini hit two of those long balls and is back in the lineup. Will the Orioles' power surge continue against the Blue Jays?

2. Third time's the charm. Kevin Gausman's first two starts of the season were somewhat disappointing, as he allowed six runs and walked seven in 10 innings. Gausman seeks his first quality start against a Blue Jays team he faced on Opening Day.

3. Big number. Blue Jays left-hander Francisco Liriano's ERA can only go down tonight, right? He allowed five runs in one-third of an inning in his first start. The Orioles are hitting just .233 against left-handers this year. It's worth watching whether they are able to keep Liriano and the last-place Blue Jays struggling tonight.
