Orioles on deck: What to watch Sunday at Yankees

Orioles (14-8) vs. Yankees (15-7)

Where: Yankee Stadium

First pitch: 1:05 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN, WJZ/105.7 FM

Starting pitchers: Orioles LHP Wade Miley (1-1, 2.08 ERA) vs. Yankees LHP Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 3.78 ERA)

What to watch

1. Pitching problem. The Orioles went into this series with the third-best ERA in the major leagues. Over the past two games, they have surrendered 26 runs. Wade Miley has been one of their two best starters this season and has allowed three runs in 15 innings over his past two starts. The club will be depending on him to make sure they aren't swept out of the Bronx.

2. Jones with the hot hand. Adam Jones has 10 hits in his past 26 at-bats with four multihit games in his past six. That has elevated his average from .258 to .295.

3. Back to first place. The Orioles enter today's game looking up at the Yankees in the American League East, and are not in the top spot for the first time this season. Can they make sure they head to Boston back tied with the Yankees or will they be two games out?
