Orioles on deck: What to watch Saturday at Rangers

Orioles (8-2) vs. Rangers (6-6)

Where: Globe Life Park in Arlington

First pitch: 8:05 p.m.

TV/Radio: MASN2/WJZ/105.7 The Fan

Starting pitchers: Orioles RHP Yovani Gallardo (1-0, 5.40 ERA) vs. Rangers RHP Colby Lewis (1-0, 3.00 ERA)

What to watch

1. On the Mark. No one on the club is swinging a hotter bat than Mark Trumbo right now. Jonathan Schoop, who has seven extra-base hits in 10 games this season, is even in disbelief over how good the new Orioles slugger looks so far. Trumbo has five homers in the past five games and became the first Oriole to homer twice in the same inning Friday. Does he have an encore in store?

2. Gallardo returns. Yovani Gallardo starts against the Rangers tonight for the first time since leaving Texas for Baltimore. Will the veteran right-hander be able to get back on track after a rough outing at Fenway Park?

3. What a relief. If Gallardo does falter again, the Orioles can be confident in a bullpen that ranks second in the majors with a 1.42 ERA and sixth with a .199 opponents' batting average. Will the relief corps be able to stifle a tough Texas lineup?
