What to watch

1. Sleeping in Seattle. The Orioles offense has fallen into a slumber since ending a stretch of eight straight games against last-place teams. The Orioles had 46 hits in scoring at least 11 runs in three straight games entering Thursday. They have scored five runs on 13 total hits over the two games since. Can the bats awaken against lefty James Paxton, who has a 6.39 ERA over his past two starts?

2. Tyler turnaround. Tyler Wilson has seen his season trend downward since he had four quality starts in five outings in May. He has a 5.65 ERA in five starts since, and that includes eight scoreless innings in Boston on June 16. Wilson struggled the first time he faced the Mariners this year, allowing five runs in six innings for his only poor start in May. Will Wilson perform better in Seattle?

3. Road reaction. The Orioles went into this nine-game road trip 14-17 away from Camden Yards this season. After starting the trip with two straight wins in San Diego, they followed with two straight defeats in Seattle. Can they get back to putting their road woes behind them tonight at Safeco Field?
