What to watch

1. Streaky vs. streaky. With two seven-game winning streaks, it's clear the Orioles are streaky this year. But so are the Royals. Kansas City opens a series at Camden Yards tonight looking to halt a four-game skid, which immediately followed a six-game winning streak that elevated the defending champs to 30-22 and first place. Despite shoddy starting pitching before Sunday, the Orioles have won four of five. Can the Birds keep the Royals down and continue their winning ways?

2. Last chance, Part Deux. Mike Wright lost his starting job last week after his shortest outing of the year ... only to be called back up a day later to take Darren O'Day's spot on the active roster, and eventually be named tonight's starter for his very next turn. Second chances don't often come so quickly, so will Wright be able to show he belongs and extend his stay or will his woes continue to have him ticketed for a return to the minors?

3. Royal pains. The Orioles haven't won a season series against the Royals since 2012, and have already lost two of three meetings this season between the 2014 American League Championship Series combatants. Can the Orioles put an end to their three-year slide against the Royals starting tonight?
