Orioles' Johnny Giavotella excited to return to big leagues

TThe Orioles selected the contract of second baseman Johnny Giavotella from Triple-A Norfolk before team’s series opener in Minnesota.

What to watch

1. Long time gone. Tillman will be making his first start since Jun 30, after being placed on paternity leave before the All-Star Break. The right-hander has fared better at home, where he has a 5.88 ERA in seven starts.

2. Popping off. Mark Trumbo has 18 home runs in 283 career at-bats against the Rangers, his most against any opponent. He's 4-for-14 all time against Cashner, with one triple and no RBIs.

3. Veering off. The Orioles have four stretches of at least four straight losses this season, but they've yet to lose four in a row at home this season. That could happen tonight.
