What to watch

1. Stifling staff. The Orioles come home from their busy week in Boston to face the top-ranked pitching staff in baseball. The White Sox own the best team ERA in the majors, rank second in relief ERA and seventh in starters' ERA. Tonight, they take on old friend Miguel Gonzalez, who was 3-0 with a sparkling 2.00 ERA after four starts this season. But he allowed seven runs (six earned) on a career-high 14 hits in six innings his last time out.

2. Bat boost. The Orioles have scored at least five runs in five of the past eight games to see their offense begin to wake up. In Thursday's 8-3 win over the Red Sox, they scored in multiple ways and tied a season high with 17 hits. They run out the same lineup tonight, with Seth Smith leading off one night after a 4-for-4 performance.

3. Miley strong. Wade Miley has walked 19 batters in 31 innings this season, but he still has a 2.32 ERA. He has pitched at least five innings in every start and has allowed no more than three runs. He allowed more than two runs only once.
