Orioles monitoring Friday's weather, not altering Opening Day plans

Opening Day might not be played under the same chilly conditions the Orioles' Thursday off-day workout was, but weather could still impact the proceedings Friday afternoon.

Orioles vice president of communications and marketing Greg Bader said in an email that the Orioles are "closely monitoring the National Weather Service reports, and continue to plan for our Opening Day festivities to take place as scheduled."

Temperatures could climb to as high as 77 degrees for the 3:05 p.m. first pitch, according to the National Weather Service, but as the temperature climbs, so will the chance for rain.

The weather service called for a quarter inch to a half inch of rain, and placed the chance of precipitation at 80 percent.

Umbrellas are allowed inside the ballpark, per the O's website, "as long as they do not interfere with other fan's view and enjoyment of the game."

Temperatures are expected to stay warm through the evening as the chance of rain decreases.
