SARASOTA, Fla. — The Orioles open their Grapefruit League schedule today with 1:05 p.m. exhibition against the Detroit Tigers at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla.
As manager Buck Showalter indicated, most starters won't make the trip and instead work out here at the Ed Smith Stadium complete.
The Orioles will take a look at Everth Cabrera, who will start at shortstop, at the leadoff position for the first time this spring.
Starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez is slated to pitch two innings.
